罗伯特·C·莫顿是哈佛大学商学院的约翰和纳蒂·麦克阿瑟荣誉教授。1970年获得麻省理工学院经济学博士之后，他一直供职于麻省理工学院斯隆管理学院金融系，直至1988年任职于哈佛大学。莫顿教授是美国金融学会前任主席和国家科学院院士。他于1997年获得诺贝尔经济学奖。
